Another E type for an engine rebuild and a clean up of the under bonnet while it's out. Look closely and you can see the split picture frame at the front but it hadn't been noticed !  Wall to wall E types at the moment. Two here having mechanicals, while we have two being welded and two painted and another for a full rebuild.  XKR in for a multitude of jobs. Timing chains, paint, trim , welding and a really good clean as has been parked up for sometime a is feeling a bit sorry for it's self. But it is an R It's good to be honest. This late series 1 1/2 E type was shipped to us for the engine to be removed and stripped as the owner was told and believed that the timing chains were making a horrible noise and that there would be other issues caused. The minute it was started we knew it was sucking air somewhere. Admittedly it was a strange noise that could easily have been mistaken by folk less experienced but a £25 brake vacuum valve later and I had the pleasure of absolutely making the owners day and saving him a substantial amount of money !  Citroen bonnet back together as it was before my little mishap ! Need to tip it upside down and lay up a lot more fibreglass to the underside to strengthen it before it gets knocked again.  |
