Please read and understand that our MOT centre will be up and running in a few weeks, hence we will be changing our terms of business with regard to restoration.
This is due to too many people thinking I run a charity and expect to not pay their bills on time and expect me to still store their car while they get funds together. So to make it known to past , present and future customers, from here on I am going to require a 75% deposit of the estimated restoration costs upon the start of all works no matter how big or small. If you are not happy to do this then you are welcome to take your car elsewhere. A prime example of this situation forced upon me being, when we strip down a car effectively we then require the space of two cars to store the car and parts and even having taken on a second unit to free up some space it has ended up full of cars with unpaid bills that are not earning their keep , least of all , their occupied unit space. I don't want to become a glorified classic car storage facility that becomes just another expense for me on top of the unpaid bills. I love my job but why do people have cars they simply cannot afford ! If they can afford it then I take it as a real kick in the teeth that we are expected to restore their car at our expense and then get paid at their convenience . Hence why we are moving over to Mot's that pay there and then and we simply won't have the space anymore for cars that don't earn their keep. If you owe us money you stand a very good chance of your car and parts simply being put outside in an open yard, I simply have no choice when dealing with the DVSA and their rules and regs. We try to help out everyone with classic car needs even when it is something we don't wish to do which unfortunately means we sometimes end up upsetting good customers as we chose to help out the wrong client. Truthfully my heart is not in doing MOT'S but I am absolutely sick to death of having the piss taken out of me. With less and less people doing restoration you would think people would be grateful to find a business capable of doing what we do without messing me about. To add insult to injury I cannot even get to my race cars to work on them and have several of my own cars outside because I am looking after other peoples cars who haven't even had the decency to pay me which is even more of a piss take and people wonder why I get so f*" king angry lately. If you take any offence to this post then you are quite welcome to pay your bill and come and take your car as you will be doing me a big favour. Comments are closed.
