Bench's cleaned of all the fibreglass materials used making the 2CV8 panels. We can now start it's final strip down, clean paint and polish everything and reassemble one last time. Then it will be ready to race. Hope it is going to have been worthwhile !
Beautiful 6.0 V12 in for a few upgrades and some service work. Not seen one of these for a few years.
Scott at 'Richards retro restorations' dropped the painted rear wings back this morning, so just had to see what it looks like ! It does seem a shame that it's nearly finished but I'm going to totally dismantle it to rebuild the engine , change to wider outer rim sections on the rear and narrower tyres on the front. Then check everything one last time and do the livery. Done by end of may ?
Race E , we decided to try something new with the suspension as having it plated as we have in the past it would stain from use and then look dirty, so a bit of powder coating and hopefully it will wipe clean as well. Plus some black coated items as won't chip and mark as easily as paint and more durable I think on a race car.
The Mustangs seat support platform repair all finished and welded back in for good. The entire floor is now ready for some sound deadening and painting. It's a bit more solid than the tin and fibreglass bodged one we started with.
We had this S type R in recently for some sill repairs for the Mot and a service. They are a bit of a rarity and seem to have risen in value recently so I suppose we will see more of them being repaired and restored in the future.
Another E type engine in build. This one is going to have a few tweaks as the owner wants something just a little bit hotter than standard !
